Every month we put one of our partners and his or her organisation ‘in the spotlight’. This month it is Martin Hendricks, Managing Director of Black Label Hotels.
1. Why did you choose the position you have now?
That’s easy. Black Label Hotels is my company, which makes me Managing Director. I absolutely love my job.
2. What are the most recent developments within your company?
We are currently expanding our operations. Our company is transitioning from Kasteel de Hoogenweerth into a hotel organisation with 100+ rooms.
3. Which challenges are you facing?
There are many challenges, for instance on an operational standpoint: how will we find the right people for the right position?
And for the region: how do we ensure that overnight stays and organising events in the Maastricht area stays “sexy”?
4. What have you achieved, of which you are most proud?
I am very proud of what we have achieved at Kasteel de Hoogenweerth. The proposition of a small but luxurious retreat in the Maastricht area fits the location beautifully.
5. What do you do when you are not working?
I just switch off and relax with my family. I love seeing my son growing up.
6. What does the Maastricht Convention Bureau mean to you?
We partner with the Maastricht Convention Bureau to present Maastricht as destination. A place to visit and a place that you HAVE to see. We also enjoy working with the people at the destination bureau, they are a good team to brainstorm with about the way to present Maastricht and region.
