Professor Henny Beckers, as an eye surgeon, prefers to focus on challenging glaucoma surgeries. She is in charge of the Glaucoma Clinic at Maastricht UMC+, treating patients from all over the Netherlands. Several years ago, she was granted no less than two million euros in funding that allowed her to develop her own glaucoma implants. A major step forward in glaucoma surgery that could potentially help to prevent blindness in patients.
