This exclusive event is a joint initiative by MECC Maastricht and the Maastricht Convention Bureau, designed for American and European associations to discover the city of Maastricht and explore the renewed MECC Maastricht conference centre. Experience the magic of Maastricht illuminated by festive lights, enjoy our warm hospitality and dive into Maastricht’s scientific and innovative side. Friday 13 November

  • 09:00 – 11:30 Arrivals in Maastricht and check-in at Van der Valk Hotel Maastricht
  • 12:00 Lunch at leisure at Van der Valk Hotel Maastricht for early arrivals
  • 15:30 Visit to City Hall 
  • 16:30 Private guided walking tour of Maastricht, including Vrijthof, Rebelle and Dominicanen Bookstore
  • 18:00 Welcome dinner at BOLD Rooftop
  • 21:00 End of programme

Saturday 14 November

  • 08:00 – 09:15 Breakfast at leisure
  • 09:30 Walk to MECC Maastricht
  • 09:45 Tour and presentation at MECC Maastricht, including conference halls, exhibition areas and meeting facilities
  • 11:20 Visit to Château St. Gerlach
  • 12:00 Educational workshop with UMIO/Maastricht University
  • 13:30 Lunch at Burgemeester Quicx, Château St. Gerlach 
  • 15:00 Free time at the hotel or in Maastricht
  • 18:00 Hosted dinner at Pakhoes with representatives from Maastricht Convention Bureau and the region
  • 21:00 End of programme

Sunday 15 November

  • 08:00 – 09:30 Breakfast at leisure
  • 10:00 Tour of the meeting facilities at Van der Valk Hotel Maastricht
  • 10:30 Guided tour of the Bonnefanten Museum
  • 11:15 Inspirational talk at Ipanema by Dr. Katleen Gabriels, Associate Professor in Philosophy and Ethics of Technology
  • 12:00 Local lunch experience at Ipanema
  • 13:15 Wine tasting and venue tour at Thiessen Wijnkoopers
  • 15:15 Visit to Rebelle
  • 15:30 Free time in Maastricht
  • 18:30 Closing evening at Castle Mheer, including welcome drinks, a venue tour and dinner with invited regional guests
  • 22:30 End of programme

Monday 16 November

  • 08:00 – 09:00 Breakfast at leisure and check-out
  • 09:00 – 10:00 Educational workshop with Maastricht MultiModal Molecular Imaging Institute (M4I)
    and coffee at Maastricht University
  • 11:00 Departure to the airport
  • 14:00 Group flight to Barcelona for IBTM World
